The Battlefield Country Store opened in August 2016 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. This store is known for combining traditional country store vibes with modern food and dessert options. “Whether you're a foodie hunting impressive milkshakes, a sandwich lover craving big flavors, or a local looking for coffee and country charm, The Battlefield Country Store delivers it all. It's not just a meal—it's an event,” Fredericksburg Parent Magazine.

Customers flock to The Battlefield Country Store for their unique menu items, thick-cut bacon, freshly roasted coffee, nostalgic candies, and visually appealing milkshakes. Some regulars wake up early and arrive before others, knowing that as the day progresses, some of the tastiest items tend to sell out. This store has built a loyal customer base by offering products that you can’t find anywhere else.

This blog post examines The Battlefield Country Store through a SWOT analysis. Based on the analysis, an event recommendation will be proposed that will fulfill a need of the community, while also improving the image of the company.

Event Recommendation: The Battlefield Country Store should host a Mobile Meal Outreach to support homelessness and food insecurity in Fredericksburg and the surrounding counties. This would strategically situate them to provide high-quality meals while strengthening relationships with the community.

The event would involve setting up a food service tent and grills in two local Aldi parking lots. The Aldi stores in Fredericksburg are in central and accessible locations to the most vulnerable populations. In addition to providing free meals, the event could provide more resources for where to find shelters, food assistance programs, and employment support.

The target audience would be those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity, as well as anyone in the community who would be willing to assist with additional outreach efforts.

This Mobile Meal Outreach would not only benefit those in the community who are experiencing immediate food insecurity, but it would also reinforce the company’s reputation by showing that the local business owner values service, compassion, and community engagement.
