About Me
I am a wife, mother, daughter, and communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in public education.
In 2005, I earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Technology from Germanna Community College. Shortly afterward, I began my career with Fredericksburg City Public Schools, the same school division that shaped my own K-12 educational experience. Having the opportunity to serve a community that played such an important role in my life has been both meaningful and rewarding.
Throughout my career, I discovered a passion for storytelling, community engagement, and strategic communication. In July 2021, I joined the Communications Department, where I found a role that aligned with both my professional strengths and personal interests. That experience inspired me to continue my education and pursue new opportunities for growth.
In the fall of 2023, I enrolled at Old Dominion University to earn a bachelor's degree in Strategic Communications. As a first-generation college student, this journey holds special significance for me. It represents not only a personal goal but also an opportunity to model lifelong learning, perseverance, and growth for my family.
I am passionate about connecting people through meaningful communication and look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and make a positive impact through my work. As I complete my degree and expand my professional experience, I am excited to see where this journey leads next.
